Getting Private Medical Insurance and making use of our Direct Billing Facility
Selecting your healthcare provider and sorting out your private medical insurance might be a complex process, especially if it’s your first time using it. Therefore, we listed below a step-by-step guide to make this journey easier and smoother for you.
Step 1. For us to be able to make a claim on your behalf (to provide you with our Direct Billing Facility) you will first need to let us know about it and register with us to use our Direct Billing Facility. We will need you to produce the following upon registration:
- Valid ID/Passport
- Insurance Card or Policy Certificate
- Credit or Debit Card (we do not accept AMEX)
The above documents need to be renewed annually alongside the expiry of your insurance policy.
Step 2. To access treatment through your private medical insurance you will first need to obtain approval from your insurer and have them to confirm to you in writing that you are covered for the tests, investigations or treatment you need with your private medical insurer. This is so you can provide details of your cover and authorisation to us. The best way to ensure you are covered is to contact your private medical insurer at each stage of your treatment and have them to confirm in writing that the expenses for the tests, investigations or treatment you need will be covered.
Claims processes differ from insurer to insurer but they will be able to help you and guide you through the rest of the process.
Please note that other than standard GP consultations, we will not be able to offer our Direct Billing Facility for any tests, investigations or treatment you need if your private medical insurer does not confirm to us in writing that the expenses will be covered.
Our Direct Billing Facility is a service provided at the discretion of the College Clinic Ltd.
