Dr Francisca Domínguez

OVERVIEW:

Dr Francisca Domínguez is an experienced Specialist in Paediatrics with more than 20 years of clinical experience caring for children from infancy through to adolescence.

She has a longstanding connection with Gibraltar, where she has provided private paediatric care for more than a decade. Her approach to paediatrics places particular emphasis on taking the time to understand each child and their family, combining careful clinical assessment with clear communication, empathy and continuity of care.

Dr Domínguez holds the official specialist qualification in Paediatrics and its Specific Areas and has undertaken further postgraduate training in a number of areas relevant to child health. She is a University Expert in Vaccination in Primary Care and has also undertaken specific training in allergies and immunotherapy.

Her clinical practice encompasses the broad spectrum of general paediatrics, including routine health and developmental reviews, assessment and treatment of acute and chronic childhood illnesses, infant and childhood nutrition, breastfeeding advice, and monitoring of children’s growth and development.

Dr Domínguez also has a particular interest in childhood immunisation. She is able to advise families on vaccination programmes and the appropriate application of local and international vaccination schedules according to the individual circumstances of the child.

Where further investigation is required, she is experienced in requesting and interpreting appropriate laboratory and diagnostic investigations and, when necessary, coordinating referral to other paediatric or medical specialists.
