OVERVIEW:
Dr Monique Risso qualified from Leeds University Medical School in 1997 and has been practising as a General Practitioner since 2002.
Following her House Officer posts, she joined the Airedale General Hospital Vocational Training Scheme for General Practitioners in Yorkshire. During her training, she gained experience across a range of specialties essential to General Practice, including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Accident and Emergency, and Psychiatry.
She subsequently worked as a General Practitioner Registrar in Settle and Ilkley before returning to Gibraltar. Since returning, Dr Risso has worked for seven years at the Primary Care Centre and has also been providing private General Practice services in Gibraltar since 2011.
In 2010, Dr Risso travelled to Sydney, Australia, and Omaha, Nebraska, to undertake specialist training in NaProTechnology and the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System.
This approach to women’s health focuses on monitoring and supporting reproductive and gynaecological health from menarche through to menopause. NaProTechnology works cooperatively with a woman’s reproductive cycle, seeking to identify underlying causes of reproductive and gynaecological concerns and, where possible, restore normal reproductive function.
Dr Risso is an active member of the FertilityCare Centers of Europe Working Group and serves as a Board Member of FertilityCare Centers International. Both organisations meet regularly throughout the year.
